Photograph article dated September 21, 1950 partially reads, "The building of the Miracle Market at Sepulveda Blvd. and Devonshire St. Sepulveda is a very unsentimental story. But it is a hard-hitting tale of American democracy in the shirt sleeve stages. The store name might suggest it was a miracle that it could have been built. Even better than the explanation of genius, the market was 100 per cent hard work. Another coincident of names is the corporation title, Marjus, Inc." Photograph caption reads, "Miracle Market opens for business at Nordhoff and Sepulveda. Three Matelson brothers, Ralph, Joseph and Samuel did all construction work."
