This 373-meter railway tunnel, with a bending radius of 900 m, was built in 1857 according to the project of the Sardinian engineer Luigi Ranco. It was accepted into operation on September 2, 1858. The tunnel was built in two ruts. But the second track appeared later, in 1901, in the same 1901, at both ends of the tunnel, two gear towers in medieval style, which served as premises to protect paths, made. They are called "Sardinian towers." Northern Tower Round, South (photo) – square
