“The gables with wood carvings made of pine wood by Gabriel de Grupello (width = approx. 15 meters, height = approx. 4 meters) on the former hunting armory (stable) at Jägerhof Castle date from 1713. They were restored for the first time in 1848. After the Jägerhof Castle property became the property of the city through purchase in 1909, the old stable building on the corner of Pempelforterstrasse and Jacobistrasse was demolished and a farm building was built in its place. The rich wood carvings, 3 hunting pieces, which adorned the gables of the stables building, were re-attached to the gables of the new farm building after thorough renovation. During the Second World War, the building on which the carvings were permanently mounted was completely destroyed. Parts of two gable fields, the baroque main gable with the alliance coat of arms in its entirety and the eastern gable with the hunting scenes in fragments, were saved and stored.
