In 1973, Ira exploded everything that lies badly. The column stood well, but apparently lay badly. Only a pedestal remained. Kolonna was erected in 1826 as a monument to St. George Walker, the governor of the city during the siege of Derry 1689. Had an internal staircase and an observation platform. Ira, which does not know pity for women, nor to children, nor to the presence of Governors George Walkers, wondered not only the column itself, but also the inner staircase. And did not even regret the observation platform.
