Columbus Circle (W. 59th St.): The Columbus Monument that rises at a Manhattan cross road, and a corner of Central Park. The older view is northward up Central Park South (W. 59th St.). The 2 story structure on the right of the later view is (in 1940) being replaced by a large modern apartment building.
