[Construction of the bridge was approved by the decree of July 6, 1863, construction began on August 1, 1863, the bridge was completed on July 25, 1864, the movement was open on August 15, 1864.] In the eastern part of Paris, there is one of the most original molts of the city - Beri Bridge (Pont De BERCY). A two-tier bridge resembling Roman aqueduct - the main transport artery connecting the XII and XIII County of Paris. It can be reached from Austerlitsky station to Lyon. The first crossing in this place appeared in Louis XIII, when a powder plant was built in the town of Berchi for the needs of the king's army, and then Salpetnerier - a hospital for poor and beggars (now the Ministry of Finance is located in this building France). In order to get to the hospital, we used a pontoon crossing, planning to build a bridge in this place. Many projects were laid "under Sukno" until the rapid development of the suburbs did not require a reliable transport artery through Seine.
