Rare photo t. N. "Old Louvre". Prior to the restructuring of the palace in the middle of 1850 and before the construction of the north wing (Turgot pavilions, Richelieu, Colbert) the facade of access to the backyard, and apparently so had little decorative elements. After this part of the palace was the main entrance, it is much decorated. Which way passed this reconstruction is unknown, but judging by the fact that the change windows step, the front wall was dismantled and built a new one. In favor of this version is the kind of pavilion Daru (right behind the forest), which lacks the exterior wall.
