January 18, 1939Approximately 900 customers were guests of the Brass Rail Restaurant, provided they served themselves, when 249 employees staged a strike during the heart of dinner rush, January 18th. The strikers, who are shown picketing the Brass Rail, demand an immediate increase in wages and another increase when the New York World's Fair opens.
