Midi Bridge (pont du Midi - «South») - one of the two existing bridges on the same line (through the Sona river was still over the Rhone). The first pair of bridge was built in 1847-1849 years. Bridges several times changed the name, yet have not received it in 1871. Depicted in the photo suspension bridge over Sonu had a length of 128 meters and a width of 7 meters. July 7, 1916 the bridge was renamed the Kitchener Bridge (pont Kitchener) in honor of the British War Minister. During the retreat of Nazi troops September 1, 1944 the bridge is broken. It restored in 1949. In 1954 replaced by a new concrete bridge, called the bridge Kitchener-Marchand (pont Kitchener-Marchand), exists to this day.
