The Jungfernbrücke, built by Dutch compatriots in the 17th century, is the only wooden tract bridge in Berlin. Over the years, many legends and stories that tell of the origin of the name "Jungfernbrücke" have arisen. One reported by a virgin who was pushed into the water from this bridge out of jealousy and another tells of nine sisters who shared and scattered rumors on the bridge and were called maidens. The Friedrichsgracht is part of the Spree and presumably received its name in the 17th century under Elector Friedrich Wilhelm, who had some hydraulic buildings built based on the model of the Dutch can be built.
