"In November 1940, Hitler aviation massively bombed the English city of Coventry. About 70 thousand buildings were destroyed, including the Gothic St. Michael's Cathedral, built in the 14th century." (Courier Unesco) After the war, they decided not to rebuild the cathedral, but did not dismantle the ruins, but built a new building nearby, which today serves as the main parish of Coventry.
