Dorland House built 1888. 35mm slide stamped January 1979. Originally located on Pickering Avenue, the Dorland House was built for the Dorlands, aninfluential family who established the first cemetery in the City. The Dorlands operated the cemeteryuntil it was abandoned in 1930. The Whittier Cemetery was eventually acquired by the City in 1968and developed into Founders’ Memorial Park. The barn, still located on the property, is one of thefew remaining examples of such in the City.
