Porte de Paris in Lille with the city hall in the background. The monument was built at the end of the 17th century on the site of the former gate, through which Louis XIV went after the successful siege of Lille. The town hall, classified as "Monument historique" and UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built from 1924-1932 on the site of the former building, destroyed in World War 1. The tower is the largest city hall tower of europe.
