The fountain was built by architect Paolo Antonio Pisoni in 1784, and in 1937 replaced by a copy. Fountain in Cathedral Square this was already in 1266. It was wooden, but in 1315 was replaced with a stone fountain. But as a result of acts of vandalism at night (and it was the 15th century) fountain heavily damaged and in 1504 opened a new fountain. He stood up in 1782 and already in 1784 the first fountain was replaced by «Pisonibrunnen». New Fountain year was without water, it was launched only in 1785. reason for the delay was the lack of good pipe suppliers.
