Entrance to Lancaster University campus. The Bailrigg Campus opened to students in 1968, though some teaching had been carried out from 1966. In the centre of the photograph is Bigforth Barn. The duck sign relates to the ducks which are on Lake Carter. The lake was constructed for Sir Herbert Lushington Storey in the early 1900's and retained when the campus was built. It was named after Charles Carter, the first vice-chancellor of the university. (from image source)Ref: ENE20151120018
