An exterior view of the former Bunker Hill residence, known as the "Castle," taken after it and the "Salt Box" (far right, mostly out of view) were relocated to Montecito Heights, Los Angeles. Approximately seven months after both buildings were relocated in March, 1969, they were completely destroyed by fires, believed to have been set by arsonists. The "Castle," a large Queen Anne revival style residence, was originally located at 325 S. Bunker Hill Avenue. Built around 1882, and once owned by Daniel Donegan, the home was moved to the Heritage Square Museum in March, 1969 to be restored.
