Vardzia - cave monastery complex of XII-XIII centuries. Over 900 meters along the left bank of the Kura River in the steep mountain wall tuff Erusheti (Bear) is carved up to 600 buildings: churches, chapels, residential cells, storage rooms, saunas, a refectory, treasuries, libraries. The premises of the complex go 50 meters into the rock and rise to a height of eight floors. Kept secret passages linking the premises, the remnants of water supply and irrigation systems.
