Photograph caption dated November 30, 1963 reads "St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Rite Church, Van Nuys, 5329 Sepulveda Blvd., Van Nuys, has announced plans for the construction of a parish, which will bring the total value of the church to $375,000. Above, the colorful Byzantine architecture is shown on front of St. Mary's main worship sanctuary. Eventually, the church plans a fulltime parochial day school, which will be staffed and taught by nuns of the Byzantine Rite. Dates for construction have not been announced."
