Perret Tower, which is located directly opposite the station was designed by architect Auguste Perret in the course of work on the reconstruction of the square and place Alphonse Fiquet Amiens station, hard-hit during WWII. Constituting 104 m (excluding the spire) tall and with 30 floors, the tower Perret, whose construction was completed in 1950, it has long been the highest skyscraper in Western Europe. Now there are both living quarters and offices.
