Malasia > Kuala LumpurThe "Masjid Jamek" is one of the oldest mosques in Kuala Lumpur and is located between the Klang and the Gombak River. Like many other buildings of that period, it was was designed by Arthur Benison Hubback, and constructed in 1909. The name "Jamek" is Arabic in origin meaning a place where people congregate to worship. It is also referred to as "Friday Mosque" by the locals. In 2016, the mosque is being renovated.
