Photograph dated 1955.Built on a 40-acre site which was part of a historic Spanish rancho granted to Don Antonio Lugo, the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. plant was designed by Architects Curlett & Beelman. The $7,000,000 plant, located at Santa Fe Avenue and Firestone Boulevard, manufactured its first tire in 1928. The factory closed in 1980.
