the Church of St. Herman (Germain) Auxerre - is at the heart of the French capital, on the east side of the Louvre, in the Louvre area (pl du Louvre, 2.) Is named after a Christian saint Germanus of Auxerre (ca. 378-448.), The Gallo-Roman bishop, one of the most France revered saints. Build and rebuild from the XII century. At a time when the Louvre was a royal palace, the Saint-Germain-l'Okserrua served as a parish church for the Valois dynasty. Bell tower - the only thing that remained from the XII century.
