House of merchant Vasily Matveyevich Kubrina 1910-1912gg. According to legend, it was built by the architect of the St. Petersburg school Polezhaeva AI Gauguin background for the Mariinsky Theater actress Elizabeth Larionovny Vekshina that Basil Kubrin asked to become his wife. After the Revolution, the mansion housed the workers 'and peasants' club, a library, then the district executive committee. Kubrinsk manor has survived all the vicissitudes of the XX century: at one time there were city, district and regional offices of the OGPU, NKVD and the militia.
