Backing onto the mountain of Rheims and overlooking vineyards, Rilly la Montagne has kept its character and traditions of a small Champagne village.The railway from Epernay to Rheims opened on the 5th of June 1854. All trains stop at several stations in-between, including Rilly-la-Montagne. All local railway stations have been completed by 1854.This photo shows the station damags, after the bombing by the Allies in July 1944.
