Rembrandtplein, 1975., one of the central squares of Amsterdam. Since 1669, the Oil Market was located on the square and the square was called Botermarkt, and in 1876 it received the modern name in honor of the artist Rembrandt van Rijn. After the Second World War, this square turned into the center of nightlife. There are many cafes, shops and hotels. In addition, the largest LCD screen in Europe, 7.6 * 15 m, was installed on the square. In 2009, a large reconstruction of the square was carried out: it was liberated from unnecessary green spaces, and the monument to Rembrandt was moved to the center of the square. In the warmer months, a contemporary art fair is held here every Sunday. The screen is located on the facade of the building (2nd on the left).
