Louvois fountain - is a monumental public fountain on the square Louvois and the Rue Richelieu in the II district of Paris, near the entrance to the French library. It was built between 1836 and 1839 years during the reign of King Louis-Filippa.Ploschad Louvois was created in 1830 on the site of the former theater Théâtre National de la rue de la Loi, which was built in 1792 and demolished in 1820-m. The fountain was designed by Louis Visconti, the sculpture is made by Jean-Baptiste-Jules Klagmann.Fontan symbolizes the four great French rivers: the Seine, the Garonne, the Loire and the Saône, which are represented by four statues of women that support the upper basin.
