The construction of the Crocker Tower is underway across Hope Street (center), March 1981.The garden of the Security Pacific Bank Plaza was designed by Sasaki, Walker Associates. The Crocker Tower and its subsequent twin, the South Tower, were designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and opened in 1983. When Crocker Bank merged with Wells Fargo in February 1986, this structure became the Wells Fargo Tower and the property was renamed the Wells Fargo Plaza.
