Historical monument. Residential building of the XVI century. With a wooden facade rising above the water: completely built of wood, with the exception of one wall. Huis Met de Kogel got its name from a 40-pound cannon nucleus that fell into the house during the siege of Alkmar in 1573. This nucleus broke the facade, but by a lucky coincidence, none of the residents were affected. Modern appearance: a modern look
