Shoe store gorilla

A few people have gathered for the opening of a shoe store located on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. A giant inflatable gorilla with a sign on his chest announcing "Name brand footwear best for less" greets pedestrians and drivers alike. Although difficult to see in the photo, toward the rear a band has set up their instruments and is ready to entertain those in attendance. Photograph dated October 4, 1998.
