Florence. Panorama of the city from the tower of the Palace of City Hall. My great-great-great-grandfather John-Anton Velichko, together with Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorsky and Semyon Semenovich Abamelek-Lazarev, met on May 19 in Florence to visit Demidov Square with a monument to the patron and buildings associated with Russian history. Despite the ban on photofixing the monuments of Italy (so as not to create competition for local photographers), the local photographer Andrea Alinari led them to the bell tower of the Florence Cathedral, and apparently other viewpoints where the Italian helped the bishop to take several shots. One of them S.M. Prokudin-Gorsky presented his great-great-grandfather. Velichko himself tried to photograph, but nothing came of it. I wrote about this briefly under the photo
