Vesterliht was built in the early 1930s as one of the first specially designed and professionally managed large nursing homes. The building, designed by architect Dirk Saal in the style of late Amsterdam School, was completed in 1932. In 1934 the building was expanded with a new wing in the same style. At the time of the opening, in 1932, Vesterliht was one of the largest nursing homes and can accommodate 169 people in the Netherlands. For a long time, he was also one of the few such establishments with their own nursing department. Its location is perfect, right in the heart of the forest. In 2004, the guests moved into the new building, and since it is not clear that this building will be.
