Bahnhofstrasse in Bremen with a view at the station building, before the Second World War The station suburb north of the old ramparts developed in the first half of the 19th century. Due to the severe destruction in the Second World War, very few of the old buildings are preserved. Today there are office and commercial buildings with shops, snacks, restaurants and a hotel.
