Seventh Avenue (right to left), east side, north from W. 58th (right) to Central Park South (actually W. 59th Street), showing the westerly side of that group of buildings that were known as the "Spanish Flats". They were erected at a cost of $4,000,000 by de Navarro, the father-in-law of Mary Anderson the actress, and were considered unsurpassable, consisting of 8 units: The Madrid, Granada, Lisbon, Cordova, Barcelona, Valencia, Salamanca and Tolosa. These structures were demolished in 1928 and the site built upon by the present New York Athletic Club. Central Park is on the left side and does not appear as the photographer is viewing north eastward from the S.W. corner of Seventh Avenue and W. 58th Street. April 1925.
