Caoxi Park is a park in Xuhui District , Shanghai , People's Republic of China. It is located on Caoxi Road and covers an area of 3.13 square meters. The site was originally the cemetery and ancestral hall of Cao Qiming's family, the owner of cotton spinning, and was named Cao's Garden in 1935. The place was successively occupied by the Japanese army and the Republic of China army. In October 1957, the site was converted into a park and officially opened to the public, named Caoxi Park. In August 1981, Caoxi Park was expanded. In 1996, due to the construction of the Humin Elevated Road , part of the land was expropriated. The area was added again in 2002. At present, the gate towers in the park are preserved from the cemetery period.
