Photograph dated: July 9, 1966. The former airport, located at 1310 Air Way in Glendale, was built in 1923 and includes both art deco and Spanish style architectural elements. The facility was the was the first official terminal for the Los Angeles area as well as the departure point for the first commercial west to east transcontinental flight flown by Charles Lindbergh. The airport was closed in 1959.
