It has a new roof. It has repaired windows and doors. The interior is repaired. The second largest synagogue in Bohemia was built in the years 1871 - 1872 in the Moorish style according to the plans of the architect Johann Staňek. In 1911, the synagogue was renovated, during which interior wall paintings were taken (some were taken as early as 1883). In November 1938, the synagogue was burned down during Kristallnacht, and since then the building no longer serves its purpose. During the Second World War it was used as a military hospital and auxiliary school, and after 1949 it was used as a warehouse and fell into disrepair. In 1997, repairs began to the devastated synagogue, which received a new facade and roofing. Due to its excellent acoustics, it is occasionally used for concerts. It is a one-nave building with an apse, in the western facade of which there are two prismatic towers with domes. The ceiling of the interior is a barrel vault. The synagogue is a listed monument.
