The chapel was built in the second half of the 18th century on the original village (coordinates 50.597249°N, 13.782719°E). In the early 1930s, the entire south-eastern part of the village, including part of the village, was demolished due to progressing coal mining, and the chapel was dismantled and rebuilt in 1933 on a new site east of the village. The chapel in its original location is already drawn on the map of the Stable Cadastre from 1842. The land with the chapel belongs to the village of Zabrušany.
