The house was built in 1876-1884 for Galician vicarity. During the First World War (1914-1915), the headquarters of the 8th Army of Russia was located in the building. Since 1918, it was the secretariat of the West-Ukrainian People's Republic, during the USSR, the regional committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, now in the building there are divisions of the Executive Committees of the Lviv Regional Council (Rada), Lviv Regional State Administration and the Local Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
