Lyon - old building next to the Cathedral of Saint John (the original overlay mistakenly called the Cathedral of St. Nikita).Zdanie in the photo called manekanteriya (fr manécanterie from the Latin mane cantare -.. Singing in the morning). This is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Lyon - it was rebuilt in the XI century of building the VIII century, erected on a foundation related to the II century. Originally the building was used as a refectory for the clergy of the neighboring Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (Cathédrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste). The word itself means manekanteriya church music school for boys, in the largest cathedrals in which the former refectory transformed in the XIV century. The Renaissance manekanterii considered prestigious educational institutions, where children not only learn to sing, but also to receive spiritual education, so that after graduation they can rely church career. Since 1930, the museum opened in manekanterii church valuables.
