The monument to Field Marshal Count Josef Radetzky (1766-1858), one of the most prominent Czech commanders, used to stand in Prague on Malostranska Square. -1875), who then lived and worked in the Austrian Empire. The sculptures were sculpted by Czech sculptors brothers Joseph Max (1804-1855) and Emmanuel Max (1810-1901). The monument was built in a few months and opened on November 15, 1858, less than a year after Radetzky’s death. At the very top, on a round shield, was a bronze statue of a field marshal in an open coat and with an uncovered head in his right hand he held a field marshal’s baton, and in his left a banner. Below were seven Austrian soldiers in uniforms during the Austro-Italian War of 1848-1849: huntsman, gunner (personifying the Czech Republic), a Tyrolean volunteer, a Hungarian hussar, a sailor, a lancer and a Croatian sergeant.
