The bridge was built in the 40-50s of the 17th century. The name of the bridge is associated with Khododa Bahbud, a rich citizen, a merchant and "Zadaukhuzi" (Treasurer) at the Tsar Rostome, who built this bridge (or restored, reconstructed). In 1771, Iohan Guldenshtedt confirms the existence of a stone bridge across the river faith. Julius background Claprot, who visited Georgia in 1807-1808, writes: "In two versts from Tbilisi, we crossed the River faith, on which a very beautiful stone bridge was built." The Sost is also mentioned on the pages of the Caucasus newspaper in the 50s of the XIX Century, where the journalist N. L. Dunkln-Welling is known then:"... At first glance, its antiquity is visible, and the form of the construction resembles the Roman bridge. This bridge was probably restored not once, but the period of its first construction is attributed to the Pompey expedition to combat the mitridate of about 65 AD. Until 1849, the bridge was launched.
