The 6th Ave El went further North from here to the 58th Street Terminal until 1924.Sixth Avenue, at the S.N. corner of. 53rd Street, showing the Sixth Avenue "El" turning westward on 53rd Street. The last train on this line was run at 10:30 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 1938 the city taking ownership as of December 5, preparatory to the demolition of same. March 19, 1938.
