House of the early XVII century. In 1862, the first professional school for girls was opened in it. I opened it Eliza Lemonnier / Élisa Lemonnier (1805 -1865) - the founder of vocational training for women. School accompanied the rapid success: for two months to study enrolled 80 students, and by the end of the year there were 150. By 1890 there were already 8 "Lemonnier schools." They were about 500 girls. Elisa Lemonnier alone accounted for curriculum and schedule. French lessons, history, geography, arithmetic, physics and chemistry, drawing, writing and hygiene were considered common to all students, and held in the morning. In the afternoon, taught the rules of trade, accounting, civil and commercial law, English language, as well as working workshops on tailoring, wood engraving, painting on porcelain, etc. .. Duration of study - three years. Families involved in school funding at the rate of 12 francs per month per student
