Left in the center is the Church of the Virgin Mary (German: Frauenkirche). The Catholic city parish church of Nuremberg was built on the site of a synagogue destroyed during the Jewish pogrom in 1349 and consecrated in 1358. During the Second World War, the building was badly damaged by bombing: only the walls of the longitudinal nave and facade were preserved. In 1946-1953, military destruction was eliminated in 1989-1991 and restoration was carried out in 2003. The picture was taken in May 1945.
