The banks of the Seine at the Quai d'Orsay at the beginning of the 20th century In the foreground, next to the anglers, one can see so-called "dog cleaners" ("laveurs de chiens"). In fact, at the time, many people pursued this long extinct profession on the Seine. Today it is not advisable to wash dogs in the Seine, as much as bathing in it. In the background is the Musée d'Orsay, now an art museum, at that time still a train station. Today, the Seine is no longer so well accessible as it was then. Nevertheless, the promenade still offers beautiful views and attracts many Parisians and tourists.
