First Street in Long Beach looking east past Pine Avenue. As the sign indicates, the Metropolitan Building with its clock tower, corner of 1st Street and Pine Avenue, is home to the California National Bank of Long Beach. Next to the bank are the Yale Hotel, Venice Cafe, Berkeley Hotel and Alexander Hotel. Behind the Metropolitan Building is the tall Security Trust and Savings Bank building.
