Kholm Theological Seminary was established in 1875 on the site of the Uniate after the reunification of part of the Uniate parishes with the Orthodox Church. The new building (pictured) was built for the seminary in 1890. The building had water supply, sewage, and central heating. The seminars were located on the third floor, the training rooms and the library on the second, the assembly hall and the office of the rector on the first. In the back of the building was a house church in honor of St. Leonty Rostovsky (the photo shows a small dome with a cross). From 1892 to 1897, the rector of the seminary was Archimandrite Tikhon, the future Patriarch of Moscow and all of Russia.
