Exterior view of Park La Brea, the biggest apartment complex in the West, sprawls several blocks. The entire development, bounded by 3rd Street on the north, Cochran Avenue on the east, 6th Street on the south, and Fairfax Avenue on the west, includes more than 4,000 apartments in both high-rise and garden-style structures. The buildings were designed in the early 1940's by architects Gordon Kaufmann and J. E. Stanton. Photograph dated August 10, 1988.
