Block 37

United States United States > Illinois > Cook County > Chicago
In 1989, the quarter, limited by Steit, Washington, Dirborn and Randolf, was mainly demolished as part of a controversial and long -delayed reconstruction plan developed by the city of Chicago and opposing nature defenders. Over the next 20 years, the quarter stood almost empty. Today he again turned into a trading, office and entertainment complex. More than the place, the term “block 37” began to symbolize the struggle for power between defenders and six mayors, including two mayors of Daily, for more than 30 years.
