In the middle of the background - the modernist building of the new city church - Hammerfest kyrkje. The Old Church (1620) was burned along with the entire city in 1944. Nova was built in 1961 on the project arh.Hans Magnus. Temple harmoniously integrated in the terrain and has a bright expressive form, which Magnus inspired traditional hung for drying fish. Pyatiprolotny long nave of the church has a triangular shape, almost equilateral its roof is lowered almost to the ground. Triangular stress and concrete buttresses continuing roof line. The motif of the triangle continues to be tracked in the windows with hipped gables on the slopes of the roof, in a high gabled church tower, topped with a cross. Altar wall is a large colorful stained glass window with the image of the crucified Christ in an abstract style. At its creation Hans Magnus took two years. Stained-glass windows are decorated and the side windows of the nave.
